My sister just won a fish from a wedding and inside the bowl are flowers. The flowers were originally for decoration and we’re wondering if we should take the flowers out of the bowl for the fish. Is it okay to leave the flowers in the bowl?

Betta’s need a small tank with a filter.

I would take them out simple because they take up space and can rot as most flowers are not underwater types.
If you have never had fish before, please read a few sites to educate yourself on the care and keeping of bettas.
This is one site done by a breeder I use. It will help you down the road with any other questions you might have.

You could leave them in there for awhile they wont hurt the fish. But when they start to look icky, take them out.
