We are going to have our ceremony at a friends garden, she has won many best garden awards in this city and she has trees and beautiful flowers..she even asked me if i want certain colors or types of flowers so she can get started planting now. So my question is should I rent chairs, get more flowers, an arch or something else..or should I leave things the way they are and have guest just stand around us..I’m only having 20-25 ppl max.
we are going to nice restaurant for dinner after that…trying to keep it simple and intimate.
what do you think?
of course i will be paying for my guests meal..I have already contacted a restaurant and we’ll have a set menu with a few choices of food..
thanks

I would just go with her garden, especially if she’s won awards. If you want to stand under some kind of arch or arbor, you can always do that. But, it sounds beautiful as it is. And your friend sounds very accommodating. Consider yourself lucky!
How long is your ceremony? Personally, I would provide some kind of seating because there are some that may not be able to stand for extended periods of time.
As for decorations, since your friend has an award winning garden I would highlight that by keeping everything simple. Unless the garden is sparse, don’t bother bringing in extra flowers–it may overpower and take away from her beautiful garden and set up. Instead, rent an arch and decorate is simply because a simply decorated against a beautiful garden would look intimate and lovely.
I would rent some nice chairs, no flowers except for your bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, and boutineers, yeah you can rent an arch unless she has a garden arch already.
Think of your guests comfort. Granted, the ceremony will only last 15 minutes, tops, but people will arrive before then (think 30 minutes before). Rent the chairs. You don’t need an arch and the only flowers you’ll need are some for bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages and even THESE aren’t necessary.
The restaurant is a nice idea but keep in mind people will think that you will be paying for the meal like any other wedding reception.
Oh….sounds very pretty. Just go with the garden as it is. No additional flowers and/or decorations are needed. And, YES, I love the idea of having your guests stand around you. That way, everyone is involved in your wedding. Good luck, it sounds beautiful!
